HUMAN RIGHTS:
REPORTING AND TOOLS FOR EFFECTIVE ACTIONS


Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD) together with Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini’s Centre for Human Rights Studies and Awareness (CHRSA) is organizing an International seminar on Human Rights on the topic of: ‘Human rights: reporting and tools for effective actions’. The seminar aims to strengthen technical capacities and enhance networking activities of small, local human rights organizations that focus particularly in the areas of minority, women’s and children’s rights in India, Bangladesh and Nepal.

The participants will take part in interactive training sessions on human rights documentation, including HURIDOCs new tool for human rights documentation, media and project management. In addition, a selection of case studies will be presented by some of the participating organisations.
Goals
  1. Capacity building/ training of local human rights organizations
  2. Enhanced networking for local human rights organizations
Methods
  1. Presentations and Q/A by GHRD
  2. Capacity building: training by experts
  3. Presentations of cases by selected local human rights organizations (Bangladesh/India/Nepal)
  4. Workshops: Interactive workshops and discussion on thematic issues
  5. Networking activities
Thematic human rights issues in focus:
  1. Social/religious discrimination (Minority rights)
  2. Women’s rights (Sexual violence, trafficking)
  3. Children’s rights
