On Wednesday 15th May 2019, we were delighted to welcome students from Utrecht University School of Governance to our head office in The Hague.
They were here to learn more about the key issues facing minorities in South Asia, and what we do at GHRD to fight violations of their human rights.
After listening to a presentation by our human rights officer, the students then got a chance to discuss their thoughts on the challenges facing human rights teams advocating human rights issues in South Asia.
Finally, one of our interns explained to the students her ideas for an integration project for Rohingya women in Bangladesh refugee camps. The students were able to learn about the challenges of implementing such a project, and why it is so important to think about mid-term solutions to human rights problems.
We believe that education seminars such as these are incredibly important for students to get a better understanding of the work that goes into human rights investigations and advocacy. We are looking forward to welcoming students from around the world to our office in the near future to hopefully inspire more young people to become involved in human rights.
