1) GHRD is looking for INTERNS to join the EDITORIAL DEPARTMENT!

Global Human Rights Defence is looking for interns to join the team of Editors, whose work is focused on proofreading, reviewing, and editing the Organisation’s official documents. As an intern at Global Human Rights Defence, you will contribute to the advancement and protection of human rights. Your work is primarily focused on reviewing papers on human rights violations against vulnerable peoples and minorities in all areas of the globe covered by GHRD, including religious minorities, women, children, and the LGBTQ+ community. At GHRD, you have the opportunity of experiencing an eventful, educational, and exciting internship, from which you will actually enhance your knowledge of all things related to human rights on a global level. Our job is to advocate for the rights of those who cannot advocate for themselves. As an intern for the Editorial Department, you will be part of a diverse team and work under a supervisor. Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Proofreading English language content prepared by topic experts, for online and offline channels
  • Correcting and adjusting texts where needed
  • Giving suggestions on ways to improve language content
  • Monitoring human rights legislation and its developments Your qualifications:
  • You have a degree, or are currently pursuing a degree with a good academic record in a relevant field to this work (International Relations, International Affairs, Law, Journalism, etc.);
  • C2 or native level English;
  • Experience in Journalism or other editorial experience is an advantage;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines;
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about human rights;
  • Attentive to details and diligent;

    2) GHRD is looking for 2 interns to join our team of researchers focused on International Justice and Human Rights.

    Global Human Rights Defence is an UN ECOSOC NGO based in the Hague which is focused on actively promoting and protecting human rights of minorities and marginalized groups in order to enhance their socio-economic status. Through our new TV channel, GHRTV, we hope to make this a reality. As an intern, you will contribute to the advancement and protection of human rights. You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting decisions of International tribunals related to Human Rights topics in order to acquaint people with a non-legal background on the impact of these rulings on their lives. You will be part of a team assigned to a supervisor, and your role can include the following tasks:

  • Conducting research on the jurisprudence of Human Rights tribunals and courts.
  • Monitoring human rights legislation
  • Writing articles and reports
  • Conducting interviews with Human Rights/International Law professionals Necessary qualifications:
  • You have a degree in law and/or international relations with a good academic record in a relevant field to this work.
  • You are fluent in English. Knowledge of French, Spanish and/or Portuguese is an asset.
  • You have excellent writing, research and communication skills.
  • Interest and/or knowledge of international human rights law/ Public International Law is a plus.
  • You are flexible and adaptable.
  • You are driven and highly motivated.
  • Previous experience is not required, but is a plus. Our Offer:

    3) GHRD is looking for INTERNS TO JOIN THE TEAM PAKISTAN

    Global Human Rights Defence is looking for interns to join the team of human rights researchers whose work is focused on the geographical area of Pakistan. As an intern at GHRD, you will contribute to the advancement and protection of human rights. Your work is primarily focused on the human rights violations against minorities or marginalized groups in Pakistan. Think for instance about religious minorities, especially Hindus and Christians, but also about women and children and the LGBTQIA+ community. On a monthly basis, you will monitor, advocate and report on the human rights violations that have occurred in Pakistan against these groups. As an intern for team Pakistan, you will be part of a diverse team and work under a supervisor.

    Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting (legal) research in human rights areas;
  • Write daily news article, research articles, and reports, and;
  • Monitor human rights legislation and its developments;
  • Speak with activists, victims, and survivors on the ground.
  • Your qualifications:

  • You have a degree, or are currently pursuing a degree with a good academic record in a relevant field to this work;
  • You are fluent in English;
  • You have excellent writing, researching and communication skills;

    4) GHRD is looking for interns to join our fundraising team.

    Global Human Rights Defence is an UN ECOSOC NGO based in the Hague which is focused on actively promoting and protecting human rights of minorities and marginalized groups in order to enhance their socio-economic status. Through our new TV channel, GHRTV, we hope to make this a reality. As an intern, you will contribute to the advancement of our fundraising strategies. You will be helping the fundraising team in developing, improving and executing fundraising ideas.

    You will be part of a team assigned to a supervisor, and your role can include the following tasks:

  • Face to Face fundraising and Networking
  • Researching new crowdfunding and marketing strategies
  • Writing grant applications
  • Conducting meetings with potential sponsors and partners for GHRD

    Necessary qualifications:

  • You have a university degree with a good academic record in a relevant field to this work
  • You have knowledge of fundraising mechanisms and techniques.
  • You are fluent in English and or Dutch.
  • You have excellent writing, research and communication skills.
  • You are flexible and adaptable.

    5) GHRD is looking for INTERNS TO JOIN THE EAST ASIA AND SOUTH ASIA TEAM.

    Global Human Rights Defence is looking for several interns to join a team of human rights researchers whose work is focused on the geographical areas of China, Japan, and North and South Korea, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Nepal. As an intern at GHRD, you will contribute to the advancement and protection of human rights. Your work will primarily be focused on the human rights violations against minorities or marginalized groups in these areas. On a monthly basis, you will monitor, advocate and report on the civil, political, linguistic, and other human rights violations that occur in East and South Asia on a daily basis.

    Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting (legal) research on human rights issues in these areas;
  • Write daily news article, research articles, and reports, and;
  • Monitor human rights legislation and its developments;
  • Conduct interviews with activists, victims, and survivors on the ground.

    Your qualifications:

  • You have a degree, or are currently pursuing a degree with a good academic record in a relevant field to this work;
  • You are fluent in English;

    6) GHRD is looking for INTERNS TO JOIN TEAM MIDDLE EAST .

    Global Human Rights Defence is looking for interns to join the team of human rights researchers whose work focuses on the following countries: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Qatar, Oman, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Turkey and Afghanistan.

    This is an excellent opportunity to work with a very diverse team of experts and gain extensive research experience in international human rights law.

    As an intern at GHRD, you will contribute to the advancement and protection of human rights, primarily focusing on human rights violations against minorities or marginalized groups in the countries you have been assigned.

    As an intern with Team Middle East, you will:

    Closely monitor human rights developments in the countries you have been assigned, conduct (legal) research on said issues and author daily news articles, subject-specific research articles and monthly and yearly country reports.

    As a minimum you must:

  • Have completed a Bachelor's degree with a good academic record in a relevant field,
  • Be fluent in English,
  • Have excellent research and drafting skills,
  • Have solid knowledge of international human rights law,
  • Be highly motivated and diligent,
  • Have a deep passion for human rights.

    7) GHRD is looking for interns to join the team of women's rights researchers .

    Global Human Rights Defence is looking for interns to join the team of women's rights researchers whose work is focused on a wide range of long-standing issues related to gender inequality. As an intern at GHRD, you will contribute to the advancement and protection of women's human rights and advocate for women's rights globally. Therefore, each month you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on women's human rights violations and developments that have occurred. The aim is to raise awareness and draw attention to universal, as well as national and regional women's rights issues, while analysing, researching and addressing violations on the basis of laws and conventions.

    With the Women's Rights team, issues that will be covered and tackled include, but are not limited to, gender-based violence, femicide, harassment in the workplace, the gender wage gap, lack of access to education, systematic attacks on sexual and reproductive rights, the socio-economic and legal issues of refugee women and girls, the under-representation of women in a wide range of sectors, from politics to sports, and many more

    As an intern for Women’s Rights Team, you will be part of a team assigned to a supervisor, and your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting (legal) research on human rights and women’s rights areas;
  • Write daily news, research articles, and reports;
  • Monitoring women’s human rights legislation and its developments;
  • Conducting interviews;
  • Participating in the organisation of various projects such as workshops and conferences;

    Your qualifications:

  • You have a degree, or are currently pursuing a degree with a good academic record in a relevant field to this work;
  • You are fluent in English. Knowledge of another language is an asset;

  • You have a solid knowledge of international human rights law;
