Globally, 10 to 20 percent of children and adolescents experience mental disorders, with many developing issues by age 14, and in Nepal, where 40 percent of the population is under 18, the risk is significant. This report seeks to assess the current state of children's mental health in Nepal, identify potential causes, and highlight gaps in service provision, aiming to improve the treatment and support for affected children and adolescents.

The Yazidi community in Iraq has endured atrocities since 2014, particularly affecting children who have endured abduction, enslavement, and trauma from witnessing violence. Despite international protections like the UNCRC, mental health support for Yazidi refugee children is critically inadequate, with many suffering from PTSD and other conditions in poorly resourced camps. This report highlights the need for improved mental health services and proposes actionable improvements to support the psychological well-being of Yazidi children from a human rights perspective.
