This report highlights the challenges faced by minorities and marginalized groups in Sri Lanka, a South-East Asian nation. The Sinhalese, the majority religion, dominates the population, but the Tamils, primarily Hindus, make up 11.1%. The country has experienced numerous conflicts, civil wars, and riots since the 1950s, resulting in abuse, violence, and injustice. The most significant conflict was the 1983–1989 civil war between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and the Sinhalese-dominated Sri Lankan government. Despite the war’s end, violations against minority groups persist.
