Abortion remains a controversial issue, with states like Akansas and Texas implementing restrictive policies since 2011. Despite Roe v. Wade guaranteeing women’s right to choose, many people want to ban abortions due to their personal moral and religious beliefs. Pro-choice advocates view abortion as a question of individual liberty, privacy, and public health, while pro-life advocates defend life and family morals. Anti-abortion legislation often prioritizes women over the precious “purity of fetal life.” However, every woman should have the right to access safe and legal abortions. Overturning Roe v. Wade and banning abortions would only harm women, as it would take away their personal decisions. Criminalizing and banning abortions does not mean stopping abortions, but it could separate the physical body from the issue. This report will focus on documenting various people’s experiences with abortion and its ban.
