During this online panel, the GHRD will discuss the right to self-determination. The panel provides a forum for diverse panellists from all over the globe, who will address questions such as: What does the right to self-determination entail? What kind of impact does the right of self-determination have on indigenous communities? What steps should be taken by internal and external factors to strengthen this right? While the main focus lies on the indigenous communities of the Amazon, the panel will also touch upon indigenous communities in other geographical areas and their right to self-determination.
On September 25th, the Christian Community Holland, will hold a fellowship meeting, organized by Mr. Watson Gill, Mr. Gulbaz Fazal, Pastor Imran Gill, Pastor Nadeem and Elder Azeem Masih. The purpose of the fellowship meeting will be to unite and hold hands in making an impact together for the Christian Community.
Minority groups in Pakistan are Hindus, Sikhs, Ahmadiyyas and Christians, as well as other smaller minority groups. According to the 2017 Census, the proportion of Christians in Pakistan is estimated to be about 1.27% of the population.
Christians in Pakistan are in fear for attacks on their residential areas and places of worship and they face Pakistan’s controversial blasphemy laws (BBC, 2018).
It is important that we raise awareness about the Christians living in Pakistan and the situations they currently face. Only if we contribute to this goal together, we can achieve our goals of protecting the Christian community in Pakistan. Let us unite for this cause and hold hands to make an impact.
