ghrd members Selina and Noa attended the ‘Connecting Women and Strengthening’ meeting, which brought together organizations dedicated to empowering women. The theme was empowerment and the power of collaboration, providing an opportunity for idea exchange, networking, and support. Speakers included Korrie Louwes, director of OCW, who highlighted the importance of women’s participation in society and the benefits it brings.

Den Haag Werkt shared how they can support women to improve their opportunities and circumstances. Karin van Poelgeest, MHRM, and Karen Duys discussed the OCW Pilot, which aims to help healthcare patients with extra support, such as language. Karin Lachman and Faried Molai presented Baankans, a program that offers opportunities for people in neighborhoods in collaboration with social entrepreneurs and the Municipality of The Hague. Anne Marie Bas and Rozemarijn Van de Kerk discussed Het Wijkleerbedrijf of the Calibris Advies Foundation, which trains and strengthens people to obtain a good foundation with a diploma and a job.

The meeting provided an opportunity for connections and collaboration to work towards a future for women.
