Peace Conference on the Topic of Migration in the Hague

Jessica and Kim, two of our media team members, attended the Peace conference in The Hague. The speakers that evening were insightful and offered a unique range of perspectives. Migration was the conference's main topic, and the question of whether migration causes or results from conflict was covered.

European Feminist Foreign Policy (EUFFP) in Brussels

Our team middle East team member Mariana and women's rights team member Mira attended “The Way Towards a European Feminist Foreign Policy”, an event hosted by the European Greens and the EFA. It was a truly inspiring and thought-provoking event that our team will reflect in their research to come.

Presentation to a Group of Students from Kenya at our Office

Global Human Rights Defence was honoured to host a group of students studying Criminal Justice at the United States International University Africa to hold a presentation on GHRD and its work in human rights reporting, education, advocacy, and empowerment.

Internship Fair in the Hague

Our women's rights member Tsedenia and our marketing team member Selina presented Global Human Rights Defence at an internship fair at a university in the Hague. It was an amazing opportunity to talk to students who are currently looking for an internship, especially for the marketing and events teams for our organization.

Human Rights Tulip Awards Meeting in The Hague

The Human Rights Tulip is an award of the Dutch government to support human rights defenders in their work. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs annually awards the Human Rights Tulip to an outstanding human rights defender. GHRD had a meeting with the Tulip Award winner of 2023 as well as three other Human Rights defenders.

Panel Discussion on Syrian Women’s Struggle for Rights and Accountability in the Hague

A panel discussion on February 14, 2024, highlighted the hardships faced by Syrian women during the conflict in Syria. The event featured a report by the Syrian Network for Human Rights, highlighting the gender-based context of the conflict and the lack of due process.

United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) 55th Session in Geneva

Global Human Rights Defence attended the 55th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, covering interactive dialogues, conferences, protests, and conducting its own photo exhibition. GHRD also conducted a protest on the ongoing campaign 'Final Call to Pakistan' and conducted its first photo exhibition on 'Silent Genocide in Pakistan'.

European Humanitarian Forum (EHF) in Brussels

The 2024 European Humanitarian Forum in Brussels was attended by GHRD's EU team. The event discussed various humanitarian issues and the need for international cooperation, highlighting the importance of international cooperation and the conflict and sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

NGO Case Study During the International Business Day at Tilburg University

Our team was at an NGO case study during the Economic Business Weeks Tilbug, organized by Tilburg University. The day featured a company presentation, a case study, and an informal drink. The NGO case study discussed topics such as financial resilience and data privacy.
